AWIS Chicago Chapter Membership

If you are a practicing scientist, pursuing a degree, carrying out research or teaching in a scientific field, membership in AWIS Chicago puts you in touch with other women scientists around the city. Our goal is to foster relationships between scientists in industry, academia, and government. A mix of student members and professionals creates an environment for exchanging ideas, experiences, strategies, and advice.

When registering, select Illinois-Chicago as your local chapter.  Please note that chapter members must be members of National AWIS.

• A Workshop led by Dale Carnegie Training on “People Management”

• Science of the Small – a day-long science outreach event on nanotechnology held at Northwestern University, in conjunction with the Institute for Nanotechnology and Science Chicago
• The annual AWIS fellows reception and a breakfast networking event on how to “Learn to Juggle without Joining the Circus: Strategies to Deal with Your Career and Work-Life Balance Challenges”, in coordination with AWIS national during the annual AAAS meeting held in Chicago
• AWIS special awards at the Chicago Science Fair held at the Museum of Science and Industry
• Motherhood and Success in Science panel discussion at Northwestern University
• Third annual AWIS Chicago Innovator Award Dinner -honoring Dr. Tijana Rajh from Argonne National Laboratory
• Social events such as: Windy City Wine Festival and Olive Oil Tasting

Information submitted during the registration process is confidential and will be used only by the AWIS National office to process your membership.  We encourage you to also complete the other data fields.
