BeWISE 2010 Conference: “Women Taking the Lead to Save Our Planet”
BeWISE 2010 Conference, a follow up to the 2009 event as a result of the overwhelming number of positive responses received, will provide a regional platform for women in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to discuss, collaborate, and educate others on environmental issues and successes that range from local to international in scope. BeWISE 2010 will bring a valuable, rewarding experience to ANY individual (both men and women) involved in or wanting to become apart of a technical conference. The conference will expose participants to outstanding oral presentations, training, and unparalleled networking opportunities.
BeWISE presentations fall under any of the following categories (but NOT limited to):
· Ecology
· Human Health
· Other Environmental Issues
· Environmental Research
· Data Analysis
· Art, Design & Technology (e.g. Mapping, Web Applications, Architectural Development, etc.)
· Career Development

BeWISE is designed to reach all of the states and tribes which we serve through our Region 5 Office, including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Last year’s event drew over 170 registrants (professionals in STEM fields; collegiate and graduate students; environmentalists; as well as local, state, and federal government employees). We anticipate this year’s volume to be even greater.
